I hear ALL the time how (at births) the baby is “hungry” – babies aren’t born hungry, they’re actually born FULL! They just got all the nutrients they need from the placenta – BUT they ARE ready to suck! Sucking is a newborn reflex present to help with survival! If you put something in (or near) their mouth, they will suck on it when they’re ready! Your job is just to teach them what they’re looking for.
